WAIT WHAT?! – HOW TO PLAY
There are two ways to play Wait What?!
THE GIST
You’ll see a phrase that makes absolutely no sense.
Read it out loud. Fast.
Suddenly… it might make perfect sense.
Tap Reveal Answer to see the correct word or phrase.
Laugh. Repeat. Chaos encouraged.
WAYS TO PLAY
Casual
1. Play casually by taking turns reading the gibberish phrase.
2. Once it's guessed correctly, swipe left to reveal a new card and let someone else read the phrase.
Teams and Scoring
This is the Wait What?! timer and score keeper mode.
**You do not swipe cards while playing this mode. You click ✓ or ✕ in order for the game to automatically keep score.
1. Split into teams. Team of two, three or whatever your group decides. (Use our Yankee Jim's Random Team Generator to pick your teams to make it fair).
2. One person will try to get their partner or team to guess as many cards correctly during a certain time period.
3. The round starts automatically when the timer is started and the 5 second countdown ends and the timer starts. The green and red buttons do not work unless the timer is running. Swiping left on a card during a scoring round will not count the card towards your total score.
4. For each correct card your partner or team guesses, you hit the green ✓ button and the next card is displayed. If you must skip/pass on a card, you click the red ✕ button and another card will populate. You do this until the timer runs out.
5. At the end of the round, your total score is shown. You will also be given the option to 'Reveal Answers' to see what you got right and what you missed.
6. Pass the phone or device you are playing on to the next team to see if they can beat you!
It's a good idea for your group to decide a magic number at the beginning of the game, for example, 30. So the first team to reach 30 correct guesses/cards wins! Simply write down your score each round to keep track!
